Thoughts On "Jesus Take the Wheel"

A sampling of the song's sacchrine lyrics:
She was drivin' last Friday on her way to Cincinnati On a snow white Christmas Eve
Goin' home to see her Mama and her Daddy
With the baby in the back seat
Fifty miles to go and she was runnin' low
On faith and gasoline
It'd been a long hard year

She had a lot on her mind and she didn't pay attention
She was goin' way too fast
Before she knew it she was spinning on a thin black sheet of glass
She saw both their lives flash before her eyes
She didn't even have time to cry
She was so scared, she threw her hands up in the air

(Chorus)
Jesus take the wheel
Take it from my hands
'Cause I can't do this on my own
I'm letting go
So give me one more chance
Save me from this road I'm on
Jesus take the wheel
Such a dreadful song--and the poor girl--her first mistake was not getting an abortion. If I were in that car, rather than asking Jesus to take the wheel, I'd probably be thinking more along the lines of, "Oh well. At least now I don't have to watch my parents pretend to appreciate my shitty presents. I'm so glad I popped all those muscle relaxers before I left the house."

The far-more-tolerable chippymunk cover, however, would make a fierce club track.

The Usual

I didn't go job hunting today. I did, however, visit Target and make a few relaxing loops around the store, along the way picking up some fun items, including a wonderfully scented candle, season one of The L Word, and a box of carrot cake cookies (which are as yummy as they sound).

A Nervous Tic Motion of the Head

I didn't eat for over twenty-four hours. That's a LONG time for a big bitch like myself. I felt so powerful, like Captain Planet. However, I also thought (in Blind Date with a Crack Whore Propecia's voice), "That's stupid," so I had myself a delicious grilled chicken sandwich. I have to keep my strength up for my next Yoga Booty Ballet session, after all...

Also, I was supposed to go job hunting today, but it just didn't happen. I needed to get my sleep on, and I feel that job hunting in the afternoon is totally unprofessional, so I'll just postpone it until tomorrow.

Very Still

The weather is beautiful right now. Today I lay in the back yard while the dogs played. The sun was so warm and bright, and there's a beautiful, tall parade of trees behind the house. The only thing that could have made it better would have been a margarita and maybe a nice steak, but I digress...

Pissy Mood

Apparently I'm stupid: I left my interior light on all night, and now my battery is dead. To make matters worse, no one seems to have fucking jump cables! What the hell?!

In an attempt to alleviate my cunt of a mood, I give you more music to download.

I have a sinus infection, and believe me, it is not cute. I've been stalking the house in a hoodie and pajamas, leaving a trail of used tissues and empty glasses in my wake. Hopefully the meds I'm taking will help me feel better by Christmas.

Thoughts

Today I drove away from people who love me. It took two tries to actually leave.

Leaving last summer was so much easier: I packed my bags, headed north, and just drove.

My new favorite song is "Boats and Birds" by Gregory and the Hawk.
